Statewide Anti-Trafficking Laws
Act 1 (SB60) – Buyer Beware Act
Synopsis: Amending Titles 18 and 42, in human trafficking, further providing for the offense of trafficking in individuals, for the offense of patronizing a victim of sexual servitude and for asset forfeiture.
Act 32 (HB246) – Protecting Human Trafficking Victims
Synopsis: Amending Title 18, in human trafficking, prohibiting defendants in human trafficking cases from introducing evidence of a victim’s past sexual victimization or allegations.
Act 38 (HB843) – Child custody
Synopsis: Amending Title 23, in child custody, adding human trafficking offenses to the list of convictions affecting a child custody determination.
Act 45 (HB1147) – Sex Offender Treatment
Synopsis: Amending Title 42, in sentencing, expanding the list of offenses that require state inmates to participate in Department of Corrections counseling or therapy for sex offenders to include those convicted of human trafficking involving sexual servitude or other criminal offenses involving sexual abuse of a minor.
Act 50 (SB1179) – Victim Address Confidentiality
Synopsis: Amending Title 23, in domestic and sexual violence victim address confidentiality, further providing for definitions for persons eligible to apply and for application and certification process.
Act 52 (SB81) – Criminal Proceedings
Synopsis: Amending Tile 42, in depositions and witnesses, further providing for expert testimony in certain criminal proceedings.
Act 77 (HB2464) – Definitions in Crime Victims
Synopsis: Amending the Crime Victim Act, further providing for definitions in crime victims further providing for rights, in compensation further providing for persons eligible for compensation and in financial matters, further providing for costs and for costs for offender supervision programs.
