  • Bill: SB66/ HB 68

    • Short Description: CRIME OF SEX/HUMAN TRAFFICKING

    • Synopsis: This bill would provide greater legal protection for victims of sex trafficking and increases the penalties for traffickers. If a person has been convicted of prostitution and committed the act when they were a victim of sex trafficking, this bill allows for such a conviction to be vacated. Additionally, this bill clarifies the difference between sex trafficking and human trafficking (labor based).

  • Bill: SB 65/ HB 67

    • Short Description: HARASSMENT; SEX OFFENDERS & OFFENSES

    • Synopsis: This bill would prevent sex offenders that have been convicted outside the state of Alaska to avoid registration requirements by moving to Alaska. This bill would also require sex offenders to give more information on their travel plans to the Department of Public Safety.
