Abduction of Minor for Prostitution

Every person who takes away any other person under the age of 18 years from the father, mother, guardian, or other person having the legal charge of the other person, without their consent, for the purpose of prostitution, is punishable by imprisonment in the state prison, and a fine not exceeding two thousand dollars ($2,000).

Amendment History:

1975 Amendment:

  1. Substituted (a) “other person” for “female” after “away any”; (b) “the” for “her” before “father”; and (c) “the other” for “her” after “legal charge of”; and (2) added the comma after “consent”.

1976 Amendment:

Deleted “not exceeding five years” after “state prison”.

1983 Amendment:

Doubled the fine.
